The project to create multimedia infrastructure at Donbass Arena stadium became a key part of Ukraine’s preparations for the UEFA European Football Championship “EURO 2012.” Our company, having obtained the status of a special UEFA expert, developed and implemented technical solutions to equip the sports complex with the latest media and telecommunications systems, ensuring professional coverage of matches and other events.

Project implementation included several stages:

Planning and Development

Over 8 months, a detailed specification was created, covering all aspects of the telecommunications infrastructure. This included designing a passive cable system for 35 hybrid cameras (video, audio, communication) and patch panels for connecting Outside Broadcast (OB) trucks.

Media and Broadcasting Infrastructure

Equipment for commentator positions was created, and a control room for managing media systems (control room) was built, equipped with advanced systems for video and graphics distribution. It featured Cross Over mixing consoles, XPression 3D HD broadcast graphics systems by Ross Video, Matrox multiviewers, and JVC professional monitors.

Internal Television System

An internal television system with 300 screens (Digital Signage) based on IPTV technologies from Haivision and D-Link was implemented, ensuring efficient information broadcasting throughout the stadium.

The project infrastructure included approximately 100,000 meters of various types of Draka cables from Prysmian Group. The project also utilized solutions from leading brands such as Harris (Imagine Communications), Nevion, Blackmagic Design, and LEMO. Special attention was given to the multimedia infrastructure for professional media coverage of sporting events.

This project was completed in the shortest possible time and became a significant contribution to the overall success of Donbass Arena as one of Ukraine’s leading sports facilities.

Today, the sports arena has been completely destroyed by the Russian Federation.
